A Birthday Meal at NEO Restaurant Bournemouth

When Hubby asked me where I wanted to go for a birthday meal, I reeled off all the previous restaurants we had been to but we both agreed we wanted to be a little more adventurous and try somewhere new. But where? Hubby asked around at work and one restaurant stood out above the rest – NEO! Set in a huge glass building opposite Bournemouth Pier, NEO Restaurant has been open just two months and looks spectacular with 180° of floor to ceiling windows which offer views over Bournemouth Garden, the Pier and the beach. On the downstairs of the building… Continue Reading “A Birthday Meal at NEO Restaurant Bournemouth”

Gourmet Burger Kitchen Southampton Review

Gourmet Burger Kitchen

I had never heard of Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) until Hubby took the kids to Birmingham to watch WWE Live and had a pre-show meal in one of their branches. Upon his return home he did nothing but sing their praises so when we headed to Southampton to watch Mary Poppins the Musical it was the restaurant he was determined to take me to. GBK was first set up back in 2001, by three Kiwi guys including world-renowned chef Peter Gordon in Battersea, South London, changing the UK burger scene forever. Now they have over 70 restaurants across the UK, priding… Continue Reading “Gourmet Burger Kitchen Southampton Review”

Pizza Express Arundel-Review

Arundel

I have lived in 3 places in my life. Born up North in Yorkshire I moved south with my family at the age of two and there are too places I call home as I have lived in both for an equal amount of time – West Sussex and Dorset. I grew up in West Sussex close to the town of Arundel and have many happy memories of boating down the River Arun, feeding the ducks on the lake, visiting the Wetland Centre and exploring Arundel Castle and the Cathedral and even though it is only an hour up the… Continue Reading “Pizza Express Arundel-Review”

Treffry Tavern Table Table Restaurant Newquay Review

We have visited Trevella Park in Newquay twice now and one of the highlights of our stay is always a meal at Table Table restaurant The Treffry Tavern which is named after Jospeh Thomas Treffry, a local Cornish engineer. The restaurant was busy when we arrived but they found us a table and seated us quickly. The kids spotted a good selection of books that were on offer and selected the ones they wanted to read whilst we waited for our drinks to arrive. Isaac chose Dr Who and is now watching all the old series with him. They also received… Continue Reading “Treffry Tavern Table Table Restaurant Newquay Review”

Chimichanga Tex-Mex Restaurant Review

Chimichanga

On our recent visit to Cardiff we made the decision to leave the hotel in search of something different for dinner. In the hotel lobby was a huge interactive screen which gave the option of looking for the nearest bars and restaurants and although not the closest, Chimichanga jumped out at us and was the place we most wanted to try – plus a 30% discount voucher may have swayed our decision too. Chimichanga is a chain of Tex-Mex restaurants with colourful restaurants found up and down the country. They serve sizzling Tex-Mex dishes with a kick of jalapeno peppers,… Continue Reading “Chimichanga Tex-Mex Restaurant Review”

Five Guys Restaurant, Covent Garden Review

Five Guys

Over the summer holidays we were invited to an event at Hamley’s in Regent Street which finished unexpectedly early and left us wondering what to do. I hadn’t been to Covent Garden for years so we made the decision to make the 15 minute walk from where we were to explore. It seems Covent Garden doesn’t really wake up until gone midday and even the silver “statue” man was still getting ready to perform. We did see a violin playing waiter though. It had been an early start and the kids were starting to mention that they were hungry so… Continue Reading “Five Guys Restaurant, Covent Garden Review”

Urban Reef Restaurant, Bournemouth

Urban Reef

Last week my husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and booked a table at our favourite local restaurant for an evening meal. Urban Reef is an informal bar, café, deli and restaurant located at the Overstrand on Boscombe promenade, close to Boscombe Pier offering panoramic views over the stunning Bournemouth Bay, to the Purbecks in one directions and the Isle of Wight in the other. The Urban Reef offers a 90 seater sun deck right on the promenade, where we like to sit with a warming hot chocolate in the winter months or a cool cocktail in the… Continue Reading “Urban Reef Restaurant, Bournemouth”
