Holiday Inn Camden Lock Review

Holiday Inn Camden

Last weekend I had a child-free evening at the Holiday Inn at Camden Lock where I was attending the Britmums Fringe Party before staying the night and heading to Britmums Live the following day. The Fringe Party was held in the stunning Glasshouse at the hotel, which is a gorgeous space with tall windows overlooking the lock. We arrived slightly later than planned thanks to London traffic and a confused satnav and found the room full of some of my favourite blogging friends. It was lovely to catch up friends old and new as we helped ourselves to complimentary drinks… Continue Reading “Holiday Inn Camden Lock Review”

Harry Paye Day June 2016

Poole Harbour

Avast me harties!  Tis time for land lubbers to dig out yer eye patch, earring and cutlass for Poole’s annual celebration of its favourite pirate son Harry Paye. Harry Paye Day is an annual event where the townsfolk of Poole and many from across the lands don their Pirate outfits and celebrate the day Harry Paye took revenge for the attack on Poole back in 1405. Organised by the Pirates of Poole and supported by Poole Tourism, this is one of the local highlights of our year and starts with a blast of cannons, followed by a parade of Pirates along Poole… Continue Reading “Harry Paye Day June 2016”

Butlins by the Sea!

This weekend we were lucky enough to be invited to Butlins, Bognor Regis to experience their Diversity Break. We were all very excited, having stayed in the Wave Hotel back in 2014. The kids were especially looking forward to all the activities that they have on offer. This time we were booked to stay in the Gold Apartments and we unloaded the car as soon as we arrived and headed off to find our apartment. I hadn’t thought to tell Butlins that we had a toddler with us and sadly they had put us on the top floor which wasn’t ideal as the… Continue Reading “Butlins by the Sea!”

Visiting No.4 Privet Drive at Warner Bros Studio Tour

Warner Bros Studio Tour

Yesterday we visited Warner Bros. Studio Tour for their 15th anniversary celebrations of the film The Philosophers Stone and the chance to go inside No.4 Privet Drive which is only open to the public between 27th May and 6th June. This is our third visit to the Studios and it is still as breathtaking and magical as the first time we went and I get goosebumps as soon as I walk in the door. Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter is a unique attraction offering visitors the ultimate opportunity to journey behind the scenes of Harry… Continue Reading “Visiting No.4 Privet Drive at Warner Bros Studio Tour”

Dorset Heavy Horse Centre

This weekend we visited Dorset Heavy Horse Centre for the first time and realised we had been missing out on a fabulous day out close to home. If I am honest, the centre does not give the best impression as you drive into it and one woman manning the entrance and the shop meant a bit of a queue, but it was all worth it when we got inside. You will find something for everyone enjoy at the Heavy Horse Centre with interesting tours, talks and displays. One of the best bits about it is, with the exception of pony… Continue Reading “Dorset Heavy Horse Centre”

Paultons Park – Fun for all the Family

We are frequent visitors to Paultons Park as it is just a half and hour drive from home and I often get asked if it is worth visiting. Home to Peppa Pig World, if you have a pig loving toddler then the answer is a resounding ‘YES!” but now there is even more to do for families with older children with the launch of the Lost Kingdom. Paultons Park is set just off the M27 in Romsey, Hampshire and is a stunning park. Not only does it have rides to keep the kids entertained but it also set in some… Continue Reading “Paultons Park – Fun for all the Family”

Spring Tide Festival 2016

Spring Tide

There are a few local events we look forward to each year, Dorset Knob Throwing Festival, Lyme Regis Fossil Festival and Spring Tide Festival. The knob throwing and Fossil festivals have both been and gone, but this weekend was the turn of Spring Tide Festival at Burton Bradstock, just outside Bridport, Dorset. This West Dorset seaside village, set next to gorgeous sandstone cliffs on the Jurassic Coast, is taken over by this National Trust event which showcases an eclectic mix of local food and drink, an exciting array of local producers, artisans and crafts and was held over Saturday and Sunday.… Continue Reading “Spring Tide Festival 2016”

A Springtime visit to Legoland Windsor

Legoland Windosr

LEGOLAND® Windsor is a fun-filled day out for all the family and is somewhere the whole family enjoys visiting as there is so much to see and do although the park is predominately aimed at children aged 2-12 years old. Last weekend we took advantage of the lovely weather and headed there for a day of fun to celebrate Isaac’s birthday. We have learned from previous visits that it is impossible to do the whole park in just one day, so made the decision to see and do rides that we have not tried before, with the exception of the Atlantis… Continue Reading “A Springtime visit to Legoland Windsor”
