Camp Bestival is very pleased to announce that one of its most exclusive areas, The Den, is returning by popular demand to Lulworth Castle for its third year. Dedicated to 13-17 year-olds, The Den is a secret festival within a festival, featuring an alluring array of live music, DJs, workshops, talks and activities. And it’s the epitome of the teenage dream; no adults allowed! Rob da Bank says: “The Den is one of the best bits of Camp Bestival and I would spend all my time there but I’m not allowed in… From ace music and DJs like Kiko Bun, Dawson and Katy Wilson to all the… Continue Reading “Teenage Escapism at Camp Bestival with the Den”

Take the hassle out of camping at Camp Bestival with Pitch Village

Camp Bestival

We love Camp Bestival but there are two parts of the weekend that we don’t look forward and that are very hard work – finding a pitch and setting up the tent. Lulworth by nature is very hilly and depending where you pitch your tent, it is either close to your car or close to the main site. There are lots of hills to climb and dragging a trolley full of camping equipment and /or kids is very hard work. It normally takes us 5 or 6 trips to and from the cars to get all our camping equipment and clothes… Continue Reading “Take the hassle out of camping at Camp Bestival with Pitch Village”

Where to head offsite to in Dorset during Camp Bestival

Durlston Country Park

Camp Bestival is always the highlight of our year and there is so much to see and do onsite over four days that there is no need to go offsite at all. However, Dorset is my home county and I understand those coming from farther afield may be keen to explore some of the hidden treasures that we have to offer, so here are my top tips. My first suggestion is literally minutes from Lulworth Castle, home to Camp Bestival itself and is one of Dorset’s most loved beaches – Lulworth Cove. Tread in Brad Pitt’s footsteps and explore the… Continue Reading “Where to head offsite to in Dorset during Camp Bestival”

How to Survive a Festival with Kids in Tow!

Camp Bestival

We have just returned from our third year at Camp Bestival, a multi-award winning festival that combines an all-encompassing family festival experience with an action packed camping holiday. When we say we are off to a festival with children in tow, we get comments such as “Are you mad?”, “How do you cope?” and “Is it really suitable for children?”. In answer to those questions; we are not mad, we get organised and yes, the event caters for children of all ages as it features a truly enormous kids’ area with a host of thrilling activities from soft play and circus… Continue Reading “How to Survive a Festival with Kids in Tow!”

Countdown to Camp Bestival

Camp Bestival

The wait is almost over, it is just 10 days until we arrived in Lulworth, Dorset for our third year at Camp Bestival. We have loved previous years but this year promises to be the best yet with a stellar line up that almost feels like it was chosen just for me. After the event last year we were sent an email to ask who we would like to see at Camp Bestival for 2015 and my top 5 list went like this: Kaiser Chiefs Dick n Dom Mr Tumble Underworld Soul II Soul They are all going to be… Continue Reading “Countdown to Camp Bestival”
