10 Reasons we are Staying with Pitch Village at Camp Bestival

Pitch Village

This year will be our 4th year at Camp Bestival and saying we are excited is an understatement! Last year, however, we discovered a new way to camp and will never go back to general camping again. Pitch Village takes the fuss out of festivals so you can get back to enjoying the bands and amazing atmosphere! They are a “pre-pitched accommodation provider” which means they will have everything from the tent pitched to the mattress inflated before you arrive on site. The benefits of staying with Pitch Village 1.  One Car: Before now we have had to take two… Continue Reading “10 Reasons we are Staying with Pitch Village at Camp Bestival”

A Short Break at Andrewshayes Holiday Park

We visit West Dorset fairly regularly as we adore fossil hunting and exploring the Jurassic coast, so when we were invited to stay at Andrewshayes Holiday Park, just over the Devon border we jumped at the chance. The holiday park offers all-season camping, motorhome pitches, glamping pods and static holiday home rentals, all sat in rolling hills just off the A35, making it so easy to find that I didn’t even have to plug in my satnav. Our home for a couple of nights was a static 3 bedroom holiday home which comfortably sleeps 6. It had a well equipped kitchen,… Continue Reading “A Short Break at Andrewshayes Holiday Park”

Glamping at Crealy Meadows

Crealy

We enjoy camping, although choose to go somewhere where they have some facilities to keep the kids entertained and us comfortable. Crealy Great Adventure Park & Resort, situated in the heart of the East Devon countryside is the perfect destination for the ultimate Devon family holiday full of excitement and adventure. They have a fantastic choice of accommodation to suit all budgets and camping tastes including 5 star lodges with hot tubs, luxury themed glamping tents and the very best in facilities for family camping and touring caravans. We were invited to stay at Crealy Meadows in a Medieval Glamping Tent, which is… Continue Reading “Glamping at Crealy Meadows”

#Win the Ultimate Camping Kit from Millets

Vango tent

We are so excited about two upcoming family festivals we have planned this summer – Larmer Tree and Camp Bestival. Camping with kids can be a huge learning curve and our biggest mistake was made on our first year by camping on a hill – never easy especially with a toddler who was at the half crawling, half walking stage. Camping at a festival is a lot of fun, it isn’t quite as back to nature as a field in the middle of nowhere as there are facilities including toilets, showers, tea / coffee and food outlets close by. Tents… Continue Reading “#Win the Ultimate Camping Kit from Millets”

Take the hassle out of camping at Camp Bestival with Pitch Village

Camp Bestival

We love Camp Bestival but there are two parts of the weekend that we don’t look forward and that are very hard work – finding a pitch and setting up the tent. Lulworth by nature is very hilly and depending where you pitch your tent, it is either close to your car or close to the main site. There are lots of hills to climb and dragging a trolley full of camping equipment and /or kids is very hard work. It normally takes us 5 or 6 trips to and from the cars to get all our camping equipment and clothes… Continue Reading “Take the hassle out of camping at Camp Bestival with Pitch Village”

Countdown to Camp Bestival

Camp Bestival

The wait is almost over, it is just 10 days until we arrived in Lulworth, Dorset for our third year at Camp Bestival. We have loved previous years but this year promises to be the best yet with a stellar line up that almost feels like it was chosen just for me. After the event last year we were sent an email to ask who we would like to see at Camp Bestival for 2015 and my top 5 list went like this: Kaiser Chiefs Dick n Dom Mr Tumble Underworld Soul II Soul They are all going to be… Continue Reading “Countdown to Camp Bestival”
