Sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty!

Matilda the Musical

Hubby has been hinting that he wanted to see Matilda the Musical for quite some time, so for Christmas I bought us tickets to go and see it at the Cambridge Theatre in London. Apart from the fact that we got a little lost trying to find it, we arrived in plenty of time, getting to take in all the nods to the popular Roald Dahl book throughout the theatre. It was the stage that provided the real “Wow” factor though, as it was covered from floor to ceiling in hundreds of books, spelling out words from the story. Matilda… Continue Reading “Sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty!”

My Top 10 Posts of 2016

Omaha Beach

I always find it fascinating looking at my stats and seeing which posts have been the most popular in the last year – it is rarely the ones you think it will be and this year is no exception. I enjoy researching travel almost as much as travelling itself and it looks as though I am not alone. 1. My top post this year was a bucket list post for visiting Thailand and I have to say that looking back, I can see why as the images draw you in and whisk you off to a warmer climate. 2. My second most… Continue Reading “My Top 10 Posts of 2016”

The Great Big Christmas Days Out Linky 2016

Lapland UK

It is that time of year when parents with young children are thinking about where to take them to visit Father Christmas. If like us you dream of taking them to Lapland but funds don’t allow, tell us where you recommend (or don’t) take the small people for a magical experience. I want to know where the best Christmas Days out are all over the country! Have you had Mother Christmas read you a story at LaplandUK, marvelled at Bluestone’s Kingdom of the Elves, helped Rudolph get home at Winter Wonderland at Peppa Pig World or simply know the best Santa… Continue Reading “The Great Big Christmas Days Out Linky 2016”

Fun things to do in Dorset this Bank Holiday

Knob Throwing Festival

This Bank Holiday weekend is probably my favourite one of the year and we look forward to it every year as our home county of Dorset really know how to put together a good festival. The Lyme Regis Fossil Festival is an annual event for the whole family which runs from Friday 29th April to Sunday 1st May. The Festival seeks to enthuse young people about science, earth sciences in particular and there is plenty to do for the whole family with walks, talks, theatre, music, comedy, exhibits and lots of hands-on science. Meet and chat to scientists from the Natural… Continue Reading “Fun things to do in Dorset this Bank Holiday”

A Romantic Zip for Two!

#PierZip

Back in December we were invited to have a night off by Mamas and Papas and enjoy an evening out on them as part of their #MandPNightOff campaign. We were booked to do the Zip Line on Bournemouth Pier followed by dinner at Aruba, but sadly the weather had other ideas and the Zip Line had to be postponed. The Pier Zip on Bournemouth Pier is the world’s first pier to shore zip wire experience with a launch tower towering high above the sea, giving an exhilarating “zip surf” over the waves to the beach. Climb the Launch Tower which reaches a… Continue Reading “A Romantic Zip for Two!”

Learning to bake at River Cottage

River Cottage

I am not a big cook if I am honest. I make a mean Bailey’s Cheesecake, Lemon Drizzle cake and Gingerbread men, but since having Eliza and Sebastian I found I didn’t have time to bake, but now Eliza is at school full-time I intend to start again. Yesterday I attended Blog Camp at River Cottage organised by the team at Tots100 and one of the sessions was a workshop where we learned to make our own butter and soda bread. I have to admit I was really nervous as most of the other bloggers attending the event were proper… Continue Reading “Learning to bake at River Cottage”
