Glamping at Crealy Meadows

We enjoy camping, although choose to go somewhere where they have some facilities to keep the kids entertained and us comfortable. Crealy Great Adventure Park & Resort, situated in the heart of the East Devon countryside is the perfect destination for the ultimate Devon family holiday full of excitement and adventure. Larmer Tree Festival

Larmer Tree Festival

This weekend we attended Larmer Tree Festival for the first time and had no idea what to expect. The festival is set in Larmer Tree Gardens in Cranborne Chase, Dorset which is s simply stunning location with gardens brimming with colour and roaming peacocks showcasing their feathers as they wander around the site. I was expecting heavy traffic around the site, but I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived with no traffic problems at all. It was a lovely, picturesque drive through rural Dorset about 45 minutes from home and I was impressed that the parking was free. We collected our… Continue Reading “Larmer Tree Festival”

A Day Out at Drayton Manor

Thomas Land

Despite being almost 3 hours away from home, Drayton Manor is a place that all the family love to visit as it caters for all ages with Thomas Land for the little ones and adrenalin rides for the teens. Last weekend we were invited up to the park to try out their new VertiGO high ropes activity which you can read about by clicking the link. It is safe to say that Isaac adored the course, especially the ziplines which he did again and again, whilst Eliza and Sebastian practised their balance on the VertiGO Tots course. Once we had… Continue Reading “A Day Out at Drayton Manor”

#Win the Ultimate Camping Kit from Millets

Vango tent

We are so excited about two upcoming family festivals we have planned this summer – Larmer Tree and Camp Bestival. Camping with kids can be a huge learning curve and our biggest mistake was made on our first year by camping on a hill – never easy especially with a toddler who was at the half crawling, half walking stage. Camping at a festival is a lot of fun, it isn’t quite as back to nature as a field in the middle of nowhere as there are facilities including toilets, showers, tea / coffee and food outlets close by. Tents… Continue Reading “#Win the Ultimate Camping Kit from Millets”

Stress Free Travel: Driving Abroad

Back in February we took our car to France and found that driving abroad isn’t as difficult as we thought it would be, although driving on the wrong side of the road did take some getting used to. Before venturing across the channel we made sure that we familiarised ourselves with the rules of the road in France as they’re not the same as at home and we didn’t want to get caught out. It is also important that you take your car documentation, insurance certificates, breakdown cover and passports with you and you must also ensure that you have a Euro Travel Kit which… Continue Reading “Stress Free Travel: Driving Abroad”
