#BrickorTreat at Legoland this half term week

Brick or treat

Last weekend we took our little monsters to LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort and found ourselves getting into the Halloween spirit with their #BrickorTreat event! They had lots of fun spook-tacular activities in the enchanted forest with a fun spooky walk though mist, hay bales and LEGO® characters. There were lots of fun activities on offer including the chance to build your own LEGO® or DUPLO® pumpkin for the giant pumpkin patch, helping to build a huge Monster Mosaic and a spooky colouring tent. Of course, no visit to Legoland Windsor would be complete without trying out some of the rides. Isaac… Continue Reading “#BrickorTreat at Legoland this half term week”

Finding History where you live and our Walking Tour of Bournemouth

I have lived in Bournemouth for the last 19 years, but have had relatives here for all my life and it is the place I feel most at home. I often write about my home town and things we enjoy doing here, however, I am totally guilty of not ‘seeing’ everything our beautiful town has to offer. On Wednesday we were invited to do a Walking Tour of Bournemouth with Hattie Miles, organised by Hotter Shoes and despite me thinking I had a good knowledge of my local area, I was very wrong! Trips to Bournemouth town centre for me are… Continue Reading “Finding History where you live and our Walking Tour of Bournemouth”

Taking a Scenic and Naval Harbour Cruise in Plymouth

We seem to be addicted to travelling by boat recently, with our Carnival cruise, a trip down the Thames with City Cruises  and now a scenic harbour cruise in Plymouth. We hadn’t planned on going out on the water, but had some time to kill before our visit to the National Marine Aquarium and we spotted the boat trip being advertised (read, being promoted raucously) as we headed to Plymouth Hoe. We bought our tickets for the harbour tour ands watched the everyone get on two other boats for the Plymouth Breakwater swim before getting on our boat to secure our seats on the… Continue Reading “Taking a Scenic and Naval Harbour Cruise in Plymouth”

A Weekend Break in Cornwall – Springfields Farm Park

Last weekend we headed to Seaview Holiday Village near Looe for a short break. Cornwall is almost a home from home for us as we always seem to end up their short breaks, but we had never visited the South-East of the county before so we relished the chance to do a little exploring. Being October, the weather was a little hit and miss and we did have do dodge a few heavy showers, but it didn’t spoil the fun. We downloaded the App for Cornwall, which is a free to download app that has easy to search information and discount codes for… Continue Reading “A Weekend Break in Cornwall – Springfields Farm Park”

A Visit to the Tower of London

Tower of London

A few weeks ago we were invited to review a City Cruises trip along the Thames and we decided to make the most of the trip to London by visiting some of the tourist attractions. Isaac has been asking to visit the Tower of London for ages and as the City Cruise stopped there I decided to surprise him with a visit. What I hadn’t realised is that Hubby had never been either and I am not sure who was more excited. The boys were super excited to meet a Yeoman Warder (popularly known as ‘Beefeaters’) at the entrance and although they… Continue Reading “A Visit to the Tower of London”
