Buckle and Seam Linwood Weekender Bag Review

Buckle and Seam

Father’s Day is on its way but what do you buy the man who loves to travel? Hubby goes away on business trips quite regularly and I always despair as he carries his clothes in an ancient blue holdall he has had had since before Kian was born (that makes it over 18 years old). I have been nagging him to look a bit more professional for some time and the opportunity for me to update his luggage options came along when Buckle and Seam offered us a leather weekender bag to review. Buckle and Seam use a carefully selected… Continue Reading “Buckle and Seam Linwood Weekender Bag Review”

Knights of Royal England’s Jousting Tournament at Blenheim Palace

Jousting winner

Over the first May Bank Holiday weekend, we were invited to watch the Knights of Royal England’s Jousting Tournament at Blenheim Palace. Blenheim Palace has been on my visit wish list for some time and it certainly did not disappoint. Blenheim Palace is a stunning English country house situated in the civil parish of Blenheim near Woodstock, Oxfordshire most famous for being the birth place of Sir Winston Churchill. It is now home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family and has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site boasting a long and diverse history. We arrived… Continue Reading “Knights of Royal England’s Jousting Tournament at Blenheim Palace”

A Stay in a newly refurbished cottage with Rookley Park on the Isle of Wight

Rookley Lakes

A couple of weeks ago we were invited to Rookley Park on the Isle of Wight to see their newly refurbished holiday cottages and lakeside homes. Rookley Park is part of Island View Holidays which own several sites on the Isle of Wight, as well as sites in mainland UK too and we set off on a Wightlink ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth on a wet and blustery day. Rookley Park is home to a beautiful collection of holiday cottages, lakehouses and caravans in a (mostly) sunny parkland setting at the heart of the Isle of Wight. This idyllic countryside location is within… Continue Reading “A Stay in a newly refurbished cottage with Rookley Park on the Isle of Wight”

Easter fun at Sandbanks, Poole

Ice Cream

Lets face it, the weather over the Easter holidays was pretty shabby for most of the country, with rain and even snow for some. We tried not to let it stop us going out and having fun and on one such day, we did battle with the sea mist at Sandbanks beach in Poole. Isaac and his friend were booked onto an activity day at Land & Wave, an activity centre based at Sandbanks which offers school holiday clubs where they get to do activities such as paddle boarding, kayaking, jumbo paddle boarding, raft building, sports and team building for children… Continue Reading “Easter fun at Sandbanks, Poole”

A visit to Queen Victoria’s beloved Osborne House

Osborne House Gardens

Have you been watching the TV series Victoria? I have to admit that it has completely drawn me in to the history of the Victorian era and I have been busy looking up facts about the infamous British monarch and her family. When I found out we were visiting the Isle of Wight, there was one place on my wishlist to visit – Osborne House. We left Blackgang Chine to sunshine starting to poke through the clouds, but sadly across the other side of the island where Osborne House is, the clouds stubbornly refused to budge. The house was still… Continue Reading “A visit to Queen Victoria’s beloved Osborne House”
