La Cinéscénie at Puy Du Fou – Review

La Cinéscénie

Puy du Fou is like no attraction I have even witnessed and, if I am honest, I am still struggling to put into words how awesome it is. The shows are literally ‘out of this world’ and will have you questioning yourself about how they pull off some of their amazing stunts and tricks. There was not one show that didn’t impress me and I loved them all, but throughout our visit we were told “Just wait for La Cinéscénie“. La Cinéscénie costs an extra €27 on top of park admission, although you can get this discounted if you buy it… Continue Reading “La Cinéscénie at Puy Du Fou – Review”

Exploring York with the JORVIK Group Pastport

City of York

I have wanted to visit York for some time, but living on the south coast it is too far away for a day tree and even a weekend break is a bit of a stretch, so when we ventured to the Yorkshire Dales for a family walking holiday, we added a day to our trip, so we could pay a visit. My fascination with York began when we learned about Vikings in school and now, with the kids learning about British history, plus our fondness for the show Vikings on Amazon Prime, we went in search of some Viking history.… Continue Reading “Exploring York with the JORVIK Group Pastport”

France’s Best Kept Secret – Puy du Fou

Puy du Fou

Last weekend I travelled to Nantes, France with Britmums on a press trip to a little known theme park called Puy Du Fou in Les Epesses. Puy du Fou is France’s best kept secret despite being their second largest theme park, attracting over 2.26m visitors a year. Calling Puy du Fou (pronounced “pwee de foo”) a theme park is actually doing the park a disservice as it is so much more. There are no rides and no tacky merchandise, just pure entertainment in the form of spectacular daytime and evening shows and four period villages. When walking through these villages, you feel like you have… Continue Reading “France’s Best Kept Secret – Puy du Fou”

Staying at Les Iles de Clovis at Puy Du Fou

The Îles de Clovis

When Britmums invited me on a press trip to a little known theme park called Puy Du Fou in Les Epesses, France I was intrigued. Labelled as a theme park and rated as the best in the world, I am still struggling to find the perfect words to describe it, other than “WOW!!”. What Puy Du Fou (pronounced Pwee de Foo) does offer is spectacular, immersive and awe-inspiring shows, rather than rides, that get your heart soaring and spark your emotions and the fun begins as soon as you step into one of their unusual hotels, which promise to send you… Continue Reading “Staying at Les Iles de Clovis at Puy Du Fou”

A Stay at Newfield Hall in the Yorkshire Dales with HF Holiday’s

Gordale Scar

Last summer we enjoyed our first walking holiday with HF Holiday’s at their stunning Lake District property, Monk Coniston which was set on the shores of Coniston Water. This May half term, we headed out on another adventure with HF Holiday’s, but this time to Newfield Hall, a grand 19th century country house with magnificent views of the Yorkshire Dales. We arrived late at the property, having done battle with the bank holiday traffic, but still got a warm welcome. Poor Sebby had been ill in the car just as we arrived and the manager helped us get sorted quickly… Continue Reading “A Stay at Newfield Hall in the Yorkshire Dales with HF Holiday’s”

Poppies: Wave at Fort Nelson and the Royal Armouries

Poppy Wave

Did someone say “FREE day out”? We love exploring museums with the kids as it gives them a real insight into life gone by or an interest in science and they are even better when they are free. Fort Nelson is a 19th Century Fort which looks over the city of Portsmouth and the Solent and displays a number of significant pieces of artillery and artillery related artefacts through the ages. There are over 700 items of artillery from many countries which span over 600 years, many of which are brought to life whilst sensitively telling the unique stories behind… Continue Reading “Poppies: Wave at Fort Nelson and the Royal Armouries”
