All the fun of Kidpreneur Day at Kidzania London

Posted on
October 16, 2018

We first discovered Kidzania in London back in 2015 and the kids have been asking to go back ever since.
Kidzania is an indoor city run by kids that is perfect for a fun day out, with over 60 real-life activities for the kids to get involved with.
Kidzania London
Based in Westfield London, you are greeted by a British Airways plane as you head inside and then queue up in an airline check-in type system to present your boarding passes and collect everything you need for your adventure.
Kidzania Boarding Passes
The kids are given RFID security bracelets, which not only ensure they cannot leave Kidzania without their parents, but also check them in to each activity and are used to record professional pictures that are taken throughout the day and 50 kidZo’s – Kidzania’s very own currency.
Kidzo's
The great thing about Kidzania is it teaches kids about the adult world of work and finance. Some of the activities on offer pay the kids for doing the work, however others make a charge (in kidZo’s), such as chocolate making and the climbing wall, so they had to budget with the money they earned.
Kidzania
Jobs they can do range from: Doctor to Dentist, Police Officer to Firefighter, Actor to Dancer or even being a sporting legend.
Cricketer Kidzania
The first activity the boys tried was being a Paramedic, where they spent time learning the basics before heading off in an ambulance to deal with an emergency; Sebby skilfully wrapping an arm in clingfilm to deal with a burn and Isaac administering oxygen.
Kidzania Ambulance
It was interesting to see what activities they picked, most of which were different to our last visit, which was probably more to do with the age difference.
Metro Reporter Kidzania
There are suggested age limits to some activities, such as the Nintendo Labo workshop, which has a minimum age of 8, but most activities are open to all.
Capital Radio Kidzania
We were at Kidzania for Kidpreneur Day, dedicated to celebrating young entrepreneurship and inspiring the next generation of innovators and business leaders. Four young entrepreneurs took over the city with a series of talks and workshops and we were lucky enough to join Tommy Mallet for his Q&A.
Tommy Mallet
I have to admit that I had not heard of Tommy, but the 25-year-old ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star’s footwear brand ‘Mallet’ is stocked in over 190 stores across Europe and he is launching kids footwear in February 2019. He challenged the kids to design their own trainers and was very impressed by everyone’s creations.
Shoe Designers Kidzania
Another of the pop-up stands the kids enjoyed was iCoolKid, an innovative children’s digital platform, with cool content designed by kids, for kids.
iCoolKid
Parents are welcome to observe the activities their children are taking part in, or they can spend their time in the Grown-Ups Garden Shed, or one of the restaurants or coffee shops on site. Children aged 8+ can be left on their own whilst you head off to do some shopping.
Sebby Kidzania
The kids get 4 hours to explore Kidzania and try their hand at as many activities as possible, but there is no way one visit with cover them all.
Just Dance
At the end of the session, you can buy the professional photo’s taken throughout the day, get your wristband removed and then spend your kidZo’s in the shop. Beware though, mine only earned enough for a bouncy ball and a pencil each, but if you are local you can open up a Kidzania Bank Account and save the money from each visit to enable you to buy more expensive items. The best thing about having an account is it even gains interest, so you can earn extra kidZos between visits!
Kidzania Deliveries
Ticket Prices: Adult (15+) From £15. Child (4-14) From £18. Early Years (1-3) £10 and an annual pass costs £129 and gives you unlimited access for 12 months, plus discounts and fast track entry into the city.

I’ve been meaning to take the kids to Kidzania for ages and now I really want to go – I love that there is so much choice for them to get a real taste of careers and do some fun role play and imaginative tasks
