Holiday Inn Media City Review

Media City Manchester

This weekend I headed to Manchester as I was due to attend BlogOn Conference at Hotel Football. As my husband was weekend off, we made the decision to all go to Manchester, so they could explore everything the vibrant city had to offer whilst I did all things blogging. We made the decision to stay in at Media City as not only is it home to BBC and ITV studios, but is also houses the Blue Peter Garden and the Imperial War Museum, has brilliant transport links into the city centre and was a short walk to Hotel Football, which… Continue Reading “Holiday Inn Media City Review”

Staying at Les Iles de Clovis at Puy Du Fou

The Îles de Clovis

When Britmums invited me on a press trip to a little known theme park called Puy Du Fou in Les Epesses, France I was intrigued. Labelled as a theme park and rated as the best in the world, I am still struggling to find the perfect words to describe it, other than “WOW!!”. What Puy Du Fou (pronounced Pwee de Foo) does offer is spectacular, immersive and awe-inspiring shows, rather than rides, that get your heart soaring and spark your emotions and the fun begins as soon as you step into one of their unusual hotels, which promise to send you… Continue Reading “Staying at Les Iles de Clovis at Puy Du Fou”

Staying at Disney Worlds Art of Animation Resort

When we found out we were off to Walt Disney World, we were really excited to be staying at Disney’s newest resort, Disney’s Art of Animation which boasts storybook landscapes seen in such classics as Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid. Upon arrival you are treated to a visual delight and the curving wall is packed full of images, from their first creation to the final look. You can even take your own animation lesson! We stayed in a delightfully themed Finding Nemo family suite which overlooked the Disney Cars hotel and its wonderful themed courtyard that… Continue Reading “Staying at Disney Worlds Art of Animation Resort”

The Shark Hotel at Thorpe Park Review

The Shark Hotel at Thorpe Park Review

The Shark Hotel at Thorpe Park is situated inside the resort itself and sits on the banks of an unexpectedly serene lake and is the perfect crash pad for thrill seekers who want two days of fun at the theme park. A large model shark greets guests at reception and rooms are accessed via its mouth. Checking in took more time than it needed to in my opinion however we were given all the information that we needed about access to the park and wristbands that would give us fast track access to the rides between 9am and 11am the… Continue Reading “The Shark Hotel at Thorpe Park Review”

Holiday Inn Camden Lock Review

Holiday Inn Camden

Last weekend I had a child-free evening at the Holiday Inn at Camden Lock where I was attending the Britmums Fringe Party before staying the night and heading to Britmums Live the following day. The Fringe Party was held in the stunning Glasshouse at the hotel, which is a gorgeous space with tall windows overlooking the lock. We arrived slightly later than planned thanks to London traffic and a confused satnav and found the room full of some of my favourite blogging friends. It was lovely to catch up friends old and new as we helped ourselves to complimentary drinks… Continue Reading “Holiday Inn Camden Lock Review”

The Broadway Hotel, Llandudno Review

The Broadway Hotel

I am part of the Approved Family Friendly network whom get to review hotels and restaurants to see if they are family friendly, so I was excited when an email dropped into my inbox looking for someone to review the Broadway Hotel in Llandudno as we were planning a trip to Zip World which is located nearby. The 150 year old hotel is situated less than a minutes walk from the promenade in the traditional seaside resort of Llandudno, North Wales and is run by Sheryl and Mark. They have been running the hotel for 9 years and have made… Continue Reading “The Broadway Hotel, Llandudno Review”

Crowne Plaza Hotel, Colchester Review

Crowne Plaza Hotel Colchester

Our trip to stay in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Colchester had been booked for over a year and after some initial trepidation of leaving the children in their sister’s care for a weekend we were very excited about having a child-free weekend for Hubby’s best friends wedding – something we had not had for well over two years. We had a nightmare journey to Essex. Our satnav reported a journey of just under three hours but it took us five and a half thanks to roadworks on the M3 and Friday traffic on the M25, so when we finally… Continue Reading “Crowne Plaza Hotel, Colchester Review”
