Afternoon Tea at the Knoll House Hotel

Knoll-House-Hotel

Living in Dorset, we are spoiled with miles and miles of stunning coastline to explore, but one of our favourite places to visit is Studland. With its unspoiled beaches and stunning views over Old Harry Rocks at the start of the Jurassic Coast, Studland Bay has a fascinating history which can still be seen, with lines of Dragons Teeth tank traps, pill boxes and Fort Henry over looking the bay. Possibly less well known, but equally fascinating are its links to Enid Blyton’s, who based the Famous Five adventures on the Isle of Purbeck and PC Plod (Noddy) on a… Continue Reading “Afternoon Tea at the Knoll House Hotel”

A Family Feastival with Fore Adventure

Family Feastival

We have been fans of Fore Adventure for five years now, having enjoyed a day coasteering with them for Kian’s 13th birthday and several kayaking trips to Old Harry Rocks and a learning to paddle board session since. Fast forward to the present day and it is lovely to see them adding new events to their calendar and last weekend we joined them for their family feastival. At arrival… Continue Reading “A Family Feastival with Fore Adventure”

Making the most of our National Trust Membership over Easter

Corfe Castle

National Trust membership is great value at £120 per year per family (discounts are available… Continue Reading “Making the most of our National Trust Membership over Easter”

A Jurassic Cruise with City Cruises Poole

Old Harry Rocks

Way back last December I was lucky enough to win a Jurassic Cruise to Swanage with City Cruises. It was planned in for their last cruise of the season, however, with the promise of some fabulous weather this weekend, they kindly moved it to Saturday for me. We had Sebby’s class teddy with us, so started the day on Poole Quay where we treated the kids, and Pip, to a cone of chips whilst we waited for our boat to arrive. Poole Quay in itself is a fun place to visit, with plenty of places to entertain the kids and we… Continue Reading “A Jurassic Cruise with City Cruises Poole”
