Tips for picking the perfect holiday book and Giveaway

Picking the perfect book to take on holiday can almost make to break a holiday.

I devoured the Order of the Phoenix by the side of a pool in Corfu and found a little bit of suspense alongside tales of friendship and the ultimate battle at the end was a great way to relax. I tend to steer clear of something too sad though, the last thing I want is to be a blubbering wreck by the side of the pool.

The Holiday Gems blog post has the answers to all your holiday reading questions, including:

  • What type of book should I take with me? – This will vary depending on the type of holiday you’re going on… a beach break, family getaway or couples escape.
  • eBook vs actual book… which is better for your holiday reads?
  • Additional essential tips for holiday bookworms.

Head over to the Holiday Gems blog for the full guide to finding your perfect holiday book.

In the meantime, Holiday Gems have offered one my readers the chance to win a £25 Amazon voucher so they can buy their perfect holiday book.

  1. Less weight in your suitcase or hand luggage.
Also more choice; you may start reading a book and decide you don’t fancy it after all. Your e-reader device can store hundreds of books.

  2. The cost of ebooks can be lower than the actual books. Which is handy especially when you want to read a book right away. I do still like buying paper books to keep though.

  3. Less weight in your suitcase – although for me this is only one way, as I read them all and then donate them, so I do not come home with any 🙂

  4. You have more choice, it’s handy, you are more organised, and less weight. perfect! And it’s lighter for you to carry x

  5. keeps your suitcase weight down, books can be heavy, and I need loads of weigh allowance for all my shoes 🙂

  6. You can download several books to last you the full duration of your holiday so you can read several genres dependant on what you fancy

  7. If youve carried a book you feel obliged to finish it regardless of whether it is gripping you, but with an ebook you can move on if no good!! Hazydayz72

  8. All books in one place – this is especially good if you don’t like the book you’ve started. You can just choose another one from your device.

  9. Since children s books are often your grandchild s first introduction to the literary world, it is important these first stories make the right impression!

  10. one of the pros and cons of taking an e-book on holiday is that you will have less weight in your suitcase.
